A bit of background

Through his consultancy business, John advises various private equity (PE) companies and other organisations researching the hydration and cooler markets across the UK, Europe, North America and Australia.

In the recent past, John was an executive, non executive director and consultant with Waterlogic International Limited. John remains a shareholder and investor in Waterlogic, a leading global supplier of innovative, cutting edge drinking water technology dispense solutions.

John’s vast experience in business started with work for Mars Confectionary, European Cellars and Nestlé Water Coolers. Before long, he set up his own company, First Choice Water Coolers Limited. Because of its meteoric growth, it was soon acquired by Nestlé Holdings (UK) Ltd with John as Managing Director of the combined business. The company grew from 8,500 coolers to 100,000 coolers in three years by way of organic growth and acquisitions to become the UK market leader. 

In December 2003, John left Nestlé to create a new major UK water cooler company, Angel Springs Ltd. Following a period of sustained growth, today, the UK business has over 200,000 point of use and bottled water coolers and is the clear UK market leader.

John was Chairman of the British Water Cooler Association from 2000 until 2017, and also served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of Watercoolers Europe from 2012 to 2016.

John is married with three children and lives in Lichfield, Staffordshire.
